Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,

What a wonderful way to end this festival of Polish culture – with the beauty, diversity and richness of traditional Polish folkloric dance. Thank you to all the dancers and musicians for such an impressive performance.

Over the last 8 days, we have been privileged to be a part of one of the largest and most diverse PolArt festivals!

We have experienced contemporary and traditional Polish creativity and culture on an impressive scale: from live theatre, music, literature events and film screenings, to variety of concerts and visual art exhibitions.

The city of Melbourne has opened its doors to over 1,000 artists, dancers, actors and writers from Australia, New Zealand and Poland, performing at the city's iconic venues.

On behalf of the Polish Community Council of Australia, I would like to acknowledge and thank the City of Melbourne and the people of Melbourne for their hospitality and for allowing this unique festival to contribute to the multicultural character of Victoria and Australia.

I would like to thank all of you who have come to Melbourne this year to participate, support, and enjoy the colourful spectacle of this year’s PolArt! All of you - performers and spectators - have contributed to the event that has demonstrated the best of Poland and the Polish Community in Australia.

Sincere thanks to group leaders, parents and friends for supporting their youth! We all believe in the positive impact that this year’s PolArt will bring to their lives – from a deeper understanding and connection to their heritage, to an appreciation for the ethnic diversity of Australia.

The Polish Community Council of Australia thanks the members of the Pol-Art 2015 Organizing Committee, under the leadership of Jan Szuba, for their effort, creativity, enthusiasm and energy. You have brought this wonderful and vibrant event to Melbourne, and led it with passion and well deserved success!

I would like to extend special thanks to Father Wieslaw Slowik for his spiritual and organisational support.

Thank-you all again and see you all at the next PolArt festival in 2018.
